Authorized for use by the United States Marine Corps, the GDI R-COM E-Model (Combat Optic Mount) NSN 1240-01-567-4490, is an approved replacement solution for the current USMC issue Trijicon TA51 thumb knob RCO/ACOG optic mount. The R-COM E-Model (Combat Optic Mount) has passed rigorous third party laboratory & field testing, as per Marine Corps requirements called out for the Trijicon TA31 RCO ACOG.
The ACOGs are a great battle site but have a significantly close eye relief - in the case of the Trijicon TA31 RCO 4x ACOG, the eye relief is at 1.5". This creates a usage problem for most shooters by causing the shooter to crane their neck and come off of their natural cheekweld to attain proper eye-relief / sight picture. The GDI R-COM E-Model mount solves this issue by positioning the ACOG rearward by an additional 3.50" (adjustable in 3/8" increments), thereby providing a sighting advantage to the shooter, and increasing effectiveness on the battlefield.
